CHARITY OF THE YEAR
One of the most important things in life is to positively affect the people around you. While most of us impact the people in our daily lives, we think it is important to step up and affect people beyond our immediate circle of friends and family. To that end, each year we support local and international charities. Each person at Positive is eligible to vote and donate, and Positive matches their pledges.
The generosity of the team has been growing year on year. Since 2011 we have donated over €1,000,000 to good causes such as the charities listed below.
More recently, we have raised funds for charities supporting people on the ground in Ukraine, including the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, the Irish Red Cross and Médecins Sans Frontières.
“I donate because scientific research shows that by giving to the most effective charities, such as the Against Malaria Foundation, you can reliably save a life for less than €3,000. It’s amazing that we all have the ability to save many lives over the course of our careers, and I would love to see people join me in making a donation.” -Michael
The charities we have supported include:
Against Malaria Foundation
AMF works to protect people from malaria. They fund nets and ensure they are distributed and used. They show you where the nets go. They monitor and report their use and impact. 100% of public donations buys long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs). An LLIN costs US$2.50. We work with distribution partners to distribute nets and ensure use. We conduct net use surveys and track monthly malaria data.
